Managed Agency Process (MAP)

Managed Agency System

Managed Agency systems are not just limited to organisations employing hundreds of contract staff. Through our newly devised system called MAP, we are now able to offer the same benefits but stripped down and tailored to suit a more diverse range of businesses – particularly smaller companies, or those with limited HR resources.

Best of all, MAP is offered completely free so you can enjoy the benefits of a managed agency system without incurring any charges or entering into a contract.

Working with MAP - Delphi Diesel, Leamington

In 2008, on the back of an already successful and long-term relationship, Delphi Diesel (Leamington) entered into an agreement with Consilium Group to increase our level of involvement in the management and delivery of their recruitment requirements via the introduction of MAP.

This relationship is a prime example of how a close and trusted partnership between employer and recruitment consultancy can benefit all involved.

Under MAP, employers are saved the time and administration expense of briefing and managing multiple recruitment agencies and applicants. And that’s not all:

  • By appointing a single Managed Agent to oversee all recruitment activity, employers benefit from knowing that all agencies are working to a common set of practices and business terms.
  • By encouraging inter-agency cooperation and free flow of information, employers get a better service and the agencies gain a better understanding of the company’s culture, skillset and ultimate requirements.
  • As Managed Agent, we will also look out for the contract staff placed with the employer, providing an independent point of view, answering queries and giving advice and guidance on legal, business or contract work issues.

For both Delphi and Consilium, the Managed Agency relationship is about much more than numbers. Looking beyond the salary figures and size of the workforce, both parties agree that it’s a relationship built on a strong understanding of the organisation’s business model and culture; the external market in which the business operates coupled with the internal environment in which employees will work.

Delphi’s reasons for entering the agreement were threefold:

  • Unacceptably high levels of recruitment canvass calls and constant receipt of unsolicited CVs from recruitment agencies.
  • The need to improve the level of service and technical understanding provided to the business.
  • Provision of a dedicated front-line recruitment team without incurring any additional costs or losing control of the process.

The Results

  • 100% of vacancies successfully filled.
  • Average time from vacancy to approved short-list, 4 working days.
  • Average number of unsolicited calls reduced from 40 plus to less than 5 per week.
  • Recruitment process dramatically streamlined and easier to manage - therefore delivering tangible cost savings.

Steve Doyle summarises the Managed Agency arrangement at Delphi Automotive; “it’s about commitment as well as taking a creative approach to building long-term benefit into the relationship”.

Master Vendor

Consilium Group have significant experience in the introduction, implementation and management of “Master Vendor” initiatives, acting as the managing agent for recruitment (permanent and contract) and / or non production services.

Many clients find that they have multiple agencies, sometimes over many locations, where rates, supply ability and quality are not monitored and fluctuate from agency to agency. The time spent managing these agencies taking calls, supplier quality assessments etc can be consuming, Consilium can effectively negate these problems by introducing either a full Master Vendor scheme, or, if your recruitment need is moderate, by utilizing our MAP system.
