THE MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY CENTRE

Consilium Group is extremely proud to announce we have been selected by The Manufacturing Research Centre as partner to manage recruitment for the high technology research, development and industrialisation centre of excellence.

The MTC will have a significant impact on the high-value manufacturing industry through its genuine and substantial collaboration with universities and some of the UK's leading manufacturing industries, and between these technology providers and industry to maximise the impact of public and private funding of research. This represents collaboration on an unprecedented scale.

The UK is regarded and proven to be a significant contributor to Research, Design and Development of innovative new technologies and industrial development in recent times. To continually improve its efficiency and effectiveness, in order to compete in global markets, the UK needs an effective and efficient transfer of research and development knowledge from universities into manufacturing industries, with a drive and need, for product and process innovation.

The MTC will facilitate industry to take advantage of emerging technologies and to establish a synergy through transferring and exchanging knowledge to overcome the gap between research and manufacturing. The MTC is cutting edge Centre of excellence and research to support manufacturing businesses in their pursuit of world-class performance.

Funded by National and Regional Government, public bodies and private business the MTC is a multi million pound investment to create a world-class manufacturing research centre. It will be located at Ansty Park near Coventry and will be opened 2Q 2011.


Initially the MTC is working with 4 partners;

There are also 3 founding industry members:

  • Airbus UK
  • Aero Engine Controls

The centre will concentrate on bridging academic research and industry focusing on core technologies including:

  • Advanced Tooling and Fixturing
  • Intelligent Automation
