The Role

The Quality Manager is required to lead and develop the Quality function, to offer timely and effective support to production and to ensure good effective communication with all customers and suppliers on all quality related issues. The day to day duties will include:

To manage the function to ensure all Quality activities are effectively performed.
To develop and maintain the Integrated Management System and other quality related system requirements and operational procedures.
To obtain and retain recognised Quality standards including ISO / TS16949 and ISO 14001
To liaise with all customers both internally and externally on quality related issues.
To provide support to the SQA Function.
To train and develop all departmental personnel to a level that will ensure the company objectives are fulfilled.
To set and ensure all quality activities are delivered within budget.
To establish an audit programme and maintain it on schedule.
To monitor internal/external customer satisfaction, recommend areas of improvement and lead the efforts to resolve quality and process variability problems
To embrace and develop the culture of Continuous Process Improvement across the company as a whole.
To ensure that company HS&E standards are adhered to.

The Person

The Quality Manager must be fully conversant with a wide range of quality techniques and principles, essentially from a high volume first tier automotive environment. They will have at least 3 years experience at management or senior quality engineering level and a degree or HND etc would be highly advantageous. The jobholder would preferably have qualifications in Quality Assurance, Quality Auditing and Training and a good working knowledge of PC systems would be expected.

The nature of the job demands that the job holder is conversant with and understands current Quality techniques and has a proven track record of maintaining compliance to systems and rapid problem solving.

The Package

The role will be a demanding and challenging one and so the remuneration on offer will be representative of this. The salary will be between £38,000 and £43,000 p.a with a car or allowance, BUPA and pension package to support this. The role also offers significant scope for advancement within the organisation for the ambitious individual.
