With a growing order book and significant recent investment this Defence and Aerospace manufacturing company are technically at the forefront of their sector and seek to appoint a Production / Manufacturing Engineer to assist in the introduction and programming of an Edgecam CAM system and support the engineering and scheduling within the CNC machine shop. This to ensure achievement of target efficiency and yields while implementing continuous improvements philosophy to develop world class performance levels.

The Role:

To programme milling and Turning Machines using Edgecam computer aided manufacturing (CAM) system.
To define and assist in the implementation of a Data Collection system.
Monitor and maintain production processes and yields to achieve target efficiency and costs.
Undertake production trouble shooting, initiate and implement corrective actions.
Evaluate and undertake improvements to processes and methods. Eliminate non-value-added activities.
Verify, maintain and improve operating times for product manufacture.
Understand and able to work with CNC Programs.
Define and implement planned maintenance programmes to minimise downtime.
Establish and maintain all production instructions and documentation for assembly processes.
Instigate and carry out process capability studies.

The Person:

Applications should demonstrate skills within PMFEA generation, R&R studies and SPC monitoring on ongoing basis for volume production including the support of the Design Engineering function for new products.

Candidates MUST be versed with installing or using Edgecam CAM system and ideally versed with MRP and data capture systems.

Ideally degree or HND qualified candidates should have extensive knowledge of production processes, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement techniques, including 5's, 7 Wastes, TPM and Process Capability.

The Package:

The role offers a rate of £ 22- 28 Per Hour depending on skill level and experience.
